Every Major Fight Closing Out Boxing in 2025: Canelo vs. Crawford Headlines Stacked Late-Summer Slate

The gloves are off and the calendar is heating up.
After a sluggish start to the summer, boxing has hit its stride with a flurry of blockbuster bouts and historic matchups. July delivered one highlight after another, and the remainder of 2025 promises even more fireworks — including the long-awaited mega-fight between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford.
A Wild Ride Through July
Boxing fans barely had time to breathe in July. Katie Taylor emerged victorious in a dramatic trilogy finale against Amanda Serrano at Madison Square Garden, retaining her undisputed junior welterweight crown in what might be the greatest rivalry in women’s boxing history.
A night later, Shakur Stevenson made a definitive statement by outclassing William Zepeda to remain undefeated. Meanwhile, rising star Hamzah Sheeraz scored a statement TKO over Edgar Berlanga, inserting himself directly into the super middleweight title conversation.
But the biggest shock came from Saudi Arabia, where Oleksandr Usyk dismantled Daniel Dubois in just five rounds. With the win, Usyk became a two-time undisputed world champion, adding heavyweight glory to his already legendary cruiserweight run.
And then came the return of Manny Pacquiao.
At 46 years old and four years removed from his last bout, Pacquiao stunned everyone with his conditioning and tenacity, going toe-to-toe with WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios. The bout ended in a draw, but the message was clear: the PacMan still has hands.
September Superfight: Canelo vs. Crawford
It all builds to September 13 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas — a true generational showdown. Canelo Alvarez, the face of boxing for over a decade, will defend his undisputed super middleweight championship against pound-for-pound king Terence “Bud” Crawford. This will be the first boxing event ever streamed on Netflix, setting the stage for a historic night.
But that’s just the main event.
Earlier that same day, Belfast will host a showdown for the vacant IBF welterweight title as Lewis Crocker meets Paddy Donovan. The action continues into September 14 in Japan, where Naoya Inoue puts his undisputed junior featherweight titles on the line against Murodjon Akhmadaliev in a brutal stylistic clash.
And don’t sleep on David Benavidez vs. Anthony Yarde in Riyadh this November — a WBC light heavyweight title war that’s sure to end with someone hitting the canvas.
