Brutal Surge: Attacks on ICE Agents Spike 830% Amid Political Chaos

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Assaults against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers have skyrocketed by a staggering 830% since President Donald Trump returned to office, according to a bombshell report released Tuesday by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
Federal authorities say the spike in violence is being driven by what they describe as “hysterical rhetoric” from radicalized elected officials and the amplification of anti-ICE sentiment across activist circles and social media.
“ICE law enforcement are succeeding in removing terrorists, murderers, pedophiles, and the most depraved among us from America’s communities,” said DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “Yet crazed rhetoric from gutter politicians is inspiring a massive increase in assaults against them.”
The DHS pointed to multiple disturbing incidents, including an altercation in May during a congressional oversight visit to Delaney Hall, a detention facility in New Jersey. Democratic Rep. LaMonica McIver was indicted on federal assault charges following a physical confrontation with ICE agents. She has pleaded not guilty.
More recently, in California, Rep. Salud Carbajal allegedly exposed an ICE employee’s identity to a hostile crowd by flashing the agent’s business card, which DHS claims led to a violent mob attack. The official was struck with a rock and rushed to the ER, sustaining injuries that required multiple stitches.
Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem condemned the growing hostility and called for bipartisan unity in rejecting violence toward federal law enforcement.
“I don’t care what side of the aisle you’re on — these are government officers under siege for doing their job. Enough is enough,” said Noem, taking direct aim at California Governor Gavin Newsom, who has been vocal in opposing Trump’s immigration enforcement actions.
The situation escalated further in early June when anti-ICE protests in California descended into rioting. President Trump responded by activating the National Guard in what Governor Newsom decried as a “federal takeover.” Protests soon erupted in New York, Chicago, and Dallas, amplifying political tensions nationwide.
🗣️ MainEvent.News | Editor’s Take:
Assaulting federal agents isn’t activism — it’s anarchy. There’s a vast difference between voicing dissent and throwing rocks. No matter where you stand on immigration, violence against law enforcement is a red line that cannot be normalized or ignored. As America barrels toward 2026, the safety of those tasked with protecting our borders must be non-negotiable — and it’s time for all leaders, red and blue, to say so loud and clear.
