Chaos in California: 4 Arrested in Alleged Border Patrol Sabotage as Attacks on Immigration Agents Skyrocket

Van Nuys, California—In what authorities are calling a deliberate act of sabotage, four individuals were arrested in Van Nuys, California, after allegedly deploying homemade tire spikes during a U.S. Border Patrol immigration operation. The confrontation, which punctured at least one federal vehicle and escalated into an assault on an agent, reflects a sharp and dangerous uptick in anti-enforcement actions sweeping across the country.

According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the suspects — all U.S. citizens — now face felony charges for obstructing federal officers during what DHS called a “target immigration enforcement operation.” One suspect reportedly physically assaulted a Border Patrol agent during the arrest.

“Our officers are facing a surge in assaults and attacks as they put their lives on the line,” DHS said in a statement. “Obstructing or assaulting law enforcement will not go unpunished.”

🔍 DOJ Issues Nationwide Warning

The Department of Justice added that it is monitoring this trend closely, issuing a direct warning to those attempting to interfere with federal law enforcement or promote violence against officers.

“Any official promoting anti-police rhetoric should think twice,” a DOJ spokesperson told MainEvent.News. “The offenders in this case — and others like it — will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.”

👤 Arrested: Who Are the Suspects?

Border Patrol Chief Gregory K. Bovino identified the four suspects on X:

  • Jenaro-Ernesto Ayala, 43
  • Jude Jasmine Jeannine Allar, 28
  • Sadot Jarnica, 54
  • Daniel Montenegro, 30

All were arrested on felony charges for attempting to obstruct a lawful federal operation. The U.S. Attorney’s Office is currently reviewing the case.

Local activist group IDEPSCA (Instituto de Educación Popular del Sur de California) defended two of the individuals, calling them “day laborer advocates” who were merely observing the immigration raid. They claimed the arrests were politically motivated and accused agents of using excessive force.

📈 Violence Against Immigration Officers Surging Nationwide

The arrests come amid a reported 700% spike in attacks on ICE and Border Patrol agents since President Donald Trump returned to office in January.

  • In McAllen, Texas, a man opened fire with an assault rifle outside a federal facility.
  • In Alvarado, Texas, a coordinated Fourth of July ambush injured a police officer and targeted correctional officers.
  • In Portland, Oregon, DHS reports ongoing attacks and sabotage at ICE buildings since early summer.

📰 Editor's Take:

This isn’t just a California incident — it’s a reflection of a national divide growing deeper by the day. While some frame these actions as “civil resistance,” the reality is far more dangerous: federal agents are being hunted, targeted, and assaulted for doing their jobs. MainEvent.News believes Americans deserve immigration laws that are enforced with both strength and safety — and federal agents deserve protection, not persecution. The political gamesmanship being played on the backs of law enforcement must stop before this violence spills even further into our communities.
