The UFC’s long-discussed “White House Fight” is moving closer to reality. UFC President Dana White appeared on The Herd with Colin Cowherd Wednesday, offering fresh details about what could become one of the most unprecedented events in combat sports history.

White confirmed he and his team recently met with U.S. President Donald Trump to present their vision for a UFC card on the White House lawn in 2026. According to White, Trump “loved it,” giving his approval to push the project forward.

Crowd Size and Layout

Due to tight federal security protocols, attendance on the White House lawn will reportedly be capped at fewer than 5,000 fans. However, White explained that the event will extend beyond the gates, with an adjacent park set up to host as many as 85,000 people, featuring big screens and live musical performances.

Originally targeted for July 4, 2026—America’s 250th birthday—the event may now take place in June as part of an extended series of anniversary celebrations. While no official fight lineup has been revealed, White promised more details are coming soon.

Who Could Headline?

Naturally, speculation has already begun on who might step into the Octagon for such a once-in-a-lifetime stage. Despite Jon Jones announcing his retirement earlier this year, the former UFC heavyweight champion has teased interest in participating. Conor McGregor, inactive since 2021, has also expressed his desire to be part of the spectacle. Both names carry enough star power to headline an event of this magnitude—should UFC and Trump’s team get the deals done.

🎙️ MainEvent.News | Backstage Take

The idea of the UFC hosting an event at the White House lawn sounds like something out of fantasy booking, yet Dana White has shown time and time again that he thrives on spectacle. From Fight Island to the McGregor-Mayweather crossover, White knows how to blur the lines between sport and history. Still, the logistics here are staggering—security, fighter selection, and public optics will all play a massive role. If Jon Jones or Conor McGregor end up on the card, this won’t just be a UFC event. It’ll be a global moment.
