PlayStation Plus August 2025: New Free Games Revealed + Last Chance for July's Hits

Sony is rolling out the red carpet for PlayStation Plus members this August, celebrating 15 years of the service with a fresh set of monthly games and surprise avatar gifts. Starting August 5, 2025, subscribers will get their hands on Lies of P, DayZ, and My Hero One’s Justice 2 — a trio that offers something for every kind of gamer.

Alongside the new game lineup, Sony is giving away a free 15th Anniversary Avatar Pack, featuring fan-favorite titles like Cyberpunk 2077, Hogwarts Legacy, Diablo IV, God of War Ragnarök, and Twisted Metal. These are available at no extra cost to subscribers.

🎉 "We’re excited to reveal a few more surprises!" said Adam Michel, PlayStation’s Director of Game Services.

✅ Here’s What’s Coming August 5:

  • Lies of P (PS5, PS4)
A haunting soulslike inspired by Pinocchio, blending Victorian horror with fast-paced combat. IGN gave it an 8/10, and it’s now a must-play on PS Plus.

  • DayZ (PS4)
The game that helped launch the survival genre is back. With 60-player chaos, permadeath tension, and emergent storytelling, it’s a brutal multiplayer sandbox like no other.

  • My Hero One’s Justice 2 (PS4)
Anime fans rejoice. This 3D fighter lets you battle it out with My Hero Academia characters in superpowered arena combat.

🔁 Last Chance: July's PS Plus Games

Make sure to claim Diablo IV, The King of Fighters XV, and Jusant before August 4, or they’ll vanish from the monthly rotation.

🎙️ MainEvent.News | Backstage Take:

PS Plus is aging like fine wine. This month proves Sony isn’t just celebrating the past — it's still bringing the heat. From hardcore horror to anime brawls and multiplayer chaos, August’s lineup hits every angle. But let’s be real: Lies of P alone makes this month a W.
