Trump Blasts His Own Intel Chief Tulsi Gabbard: ‘She’s Wrong’ About Iran’s Nuclear Threat

President Donald Trump publicly contradicted his Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, on Friday, saying she is incorrect about the current threat level posed by Iran’s nuclear program.
Speaking to reporters, Trump dismissed U.S. intelligence assessments that downplay how close Iran is to developing a nuclear weapon. “Well, then my intelligence community is wrong. But when the intelligence community said that, your Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard — she’s wrong,” Trump stated.
Doubling down on his position, Trump added, “I think within a matter of weeks, or certainly within a matter of months, they [Iran] were going to be able to have a nuclear weapon.”
The comments highlight a sharp divide between the president and his top intelligence official, whose role is to oversee and coordinate all national security intelligence. Gabbard, a former Democratic congresswoman from Hawaii and 2020 presidential candidate, currently serves as Director of National Intelligence after leaving the Democratic Party and joining the Trump administration during his second term.
Trump’s remarks come amid heightened tensions in the Middle East, with Israel ramping up military action against Iranian-linked targets, and renewed concern over Iran’s nuclear ambitions playing out on the global stage.
