UFC Vegas 109 delivered a night of highlight-reel chaos, brutal knockouts, and statement wins from rising contenders and established names alike. From Elijah Smith’s jaw-dropping Rampage-style slam to Anthony Hernandez’s relentless four-round dismantling of Roman Dolidze, the card was stacked with moments that had fans out of their seats. Whether it was prospects making their mark or veterans proving they still belong at the top, this event showcased the depth and danger of today’s UFC roster.

Eric McConico def. Cody Brundage via Split Decision (29-28, 27-30, 29-28)

Opening the night, Eric McConico and Cody Brundage went to war in a gritty middleweight clash fought at a higher weight class due to short-notice booking. McConico hurt Brundage early but couldn’t capitalize, allowing Brundage to wrestle back into the fight. The second round was a grinding battle with McConico landing cleaner shots, while Brundage leaned on his wrestling. The third saw both men glued to the fence, but McConico was the fresher fighter. In the end, the judges awarded McConico his first UFC win.

Gabriella Fernandes def. Julija Stoliarenko via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28)

Fernandes’ crisp striking and relentless body kicks carried her to victory, stuffing Stoliarenko’s takedown attempts and cutting her above the left eye in Round 2. The Brazilian controlled the stand-up game throughout all three rounds, picking up her third consecutive win and setting herself up for a potential ranked opponent.

Uros Medic def. Gilbert Urbina via KO (Left Hand) – Round 1, 1:03

Urbina dropped Medic in the opening seconds, but “The Doctor” quickly recovered and landed a devastating straight left that shut Urbina’s lights out instantly. Medic improves to 11-3, maintaining his 100% finishing rate.

Joselyne Edwards def. Priscila Cachoeira via KO (Right Hook) – Round 1, 2:24

Cachoeira’s hands-down approach proved costly as Edwards unleashed a brutal right hook that froze her mid-strike before sending her crashing to the mat. Edwards now rides a three-fight win streak, with all victories coming via finish.

Elijah Smith def. Toshiomi Kazama via KO (Slam) – Round 1, 4:10

In a highlight reminiscent of Rampage Jackson’s famous Pride slam, Smith lifted Kazama out of a triangle choke and powerbombed him into unconsciousness. The 22-year-old bantamweight remains unbeaten in the UFC with two dominant finishes.

Julius Walker def. Raffael Cerqueira via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-26)

Walker repeatedly grounded Cerqueira with strong wrestling, surviving two near-knockdowns in Round 3 to secure his first UFC win. The light heavyweight prospect has now been part of two thrilling Octagon battles.

Christian Leroy Duncan def. Eryk Anders via TKO (Strikes) – Round 1, 3:53

Duncan weathered early clinch pressure, then landed a spinning elbow that dazed Anders before swarming him for the stoppage. This is the kind of performance that had fans buzzing when Duncan first arrived from Cage Warriors.

Jean Matsumoto def. Miles Johns via Split Decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)

After dropping the first round, Matsumoto rallied with sharper striking and pace control to take Rounds 2 and 3, earning his third UFC win and rebounding from the first loss of his career.

Andre Fili def. Christian Rodriguez via Split Decision (29-28, 28-29, 30-27)

Fili stunned Rodriguez with counter shots early, battled through a competitive second, and used smart wrestling in the third to close out the win. A big bounce-back victory for the veteran featherweight.

Iasmin Lucindo def. Angela Hill via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)

Lucindo’s heavier shots and well-timed takedowns gave her the edge over veteran Angela Hill. At just 23 years old, Lucindo stays in the Top 10 and continues her rise in the strawweight division.

Steve Erceg def. Ode’ Osbourne via Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

After a rough first round, Erceg adjusted by leaning on his grappling to smother Osbourne’s striking, snapping a three-fight skid and reminding fans why he’s a Top 10 flyweight.

Main Event: Anthony Hernandez def. Roman Dolidze via Submission (Bulldog Choke) – Round 4

From the opening bell, Hernandez’s relentless pressure broke Dolidze down. Mixing punishing leg kicks with multiple takedowns, Hernandez controlled the fight everywhere. By Round 4, Dolidze was exhausted, bloodied, and battered. Hernandez locked in a bulldog choke against the fence, forcing the tap and cementing one of the most dominant wins of his career.

MainEvent.News | Backstage Take

Anthony Hernandez sent a loud message to the entire middleweight division — this was pure dominance from start to finish. While Dolidze showed heart, he simply couldn’t match Hernandez’s pace and wrestling pressure. With his cardio, durability, and improving submission game, Hernandez is becoming a nightmare matchup for anyone in the Top 10. Expect UFC matchmakers to give him a serious step up next — and after this performance, he’s earned it.
