50 Cent Joins Star-Studded Street Fighter Cast as Balrog

Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson is adding another role to his growing Hollywood résumé — this time stepping into the world of video game legends.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, 50 Cent will portray Balrog, the hard-hitting ex-boxer turned bodyguard for the villainous M. Bison, in the upcoming Street Fighter movie. The Grammy-winning rapper and G-Unit founder joins an action-packed cast that includes Jason Momoa, Noah Centineo, country star Orville Peck, and WWE superstar Roman Reigns (Joe Anoa’i).
Known for his relentless work ethic, 50 confirmed the news on Instagram earlier this week, writing:
“No days off. Let’s work — all roads lead to Shreveport. Boom.”
Sources say the 49-year-old is taking the role seriously, reportedly training for the part and planning to perform his own stunts.
Fans and friends quickly praised the casting, with Tony Yayo, Royce Da 5’9", Uncle Murda, and former NBA player Quentin Richardson all saluting 50’s commitment. One fan summed it up perfectly:
“Boxer and a goon for Bison? This has 50 written all over it!”
The Street Fighter reboot will be directed by Kitao Sakurai, with filming set to begin in Australia this August. The franchise, originally a 1980s arcade sensation, most recently released Street Fighter 6 in 2023.
This isn’t Jackson’s only upcoming project. He’s also starring in the horror flick SkillHouse (hitting theaters in July), Deon Taylor’s action thriller Free Agents, and recently appeared in The Expendables 4 and Boneyard.
