Capcom Spotlight June 2025: Blood, Brawlers, and a Brutal New Vision

Capcom's Spotlight June 2025 showcase provided significant updates for its flagship titles, including new gameplay for Pragmata, a release date for Sagat in Street Fighter 6, and a massive content drop for Monster Hunter Wilds, while also addressing the absence of a certain fan-favorite character in the next Resident Evil installment.
In a dense 40-minute presentation, Capcom offered a detailed look into its upcoming slate, focusing heavily on its most anticipated games. The showcase featured a mix of new gameplay reveals, character announcements, and extensive roadmaps for post-launch content.
A major segment was dedicated to the enigmatic sci-fi adventure, Pragmata. Capcom unveiled a deep-dive into its gameplay, illustrating the cooperative mechanics between lunar investigator Hugh Williams and the android girl, Diana. The footage highlighted a blend of third-person shooting and strategic hacking as the pair navigate a derelict lunar facility teeming with hostile robots. It was confirmed that Pragmata is slated for a 2026 release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with a playable demo scheduled for Gamescom in August 2025.
The Street Fighter 6 portion of the show announced the arrival of a legacy character, Sagat, who will join the roster on August 5, 2025, kicking off the game's Year 3 content. A new "Fighting Pass" centered around the Muay Thai king will become available on July 4. Capcom also revealed a new line of summer-themed swimsuit outfits for seven characters, including Cammy, Chun-Li, and Luke, which will be released alongside Sagat.
Regarding Resident Evil Requiem, the upcoming ninth mainline entry, developers discussed the new protagonist, FBI Agent Grace Ashcroft, and reiterated the inclusion of both first- and third-person camera options. The team directly addressed fan questions about the conspicuous absence of Leon S. Kennedy. Director Koshi Nakanishi explained the creative challenge in building a horror experience around a seasoned and unfazed character like Leon, stating, "He wouldn't jump at something like a bucket falling... he's actually quite a bad match for horror." While his appearance wasn't entirely ruled out, the focus remains firmly on the new protagonist.
The presentation concluded with an extensive segment on Monster Hunter Wilds. The game's second Free Title Update, launching June 30, will introduce underwater combat and the return of the formidable monster, Lagiacrus. Capcom detailed a comprehensive content roadmap, including the "Festival of Accord: Flamefete" seasonal event in July, the arrival of an Arch-Tempered monster variant, and a collaboration with Fender guitars. A third title update is already scheduled for late September.
Finally, to mark the first anniversary of the action-strategy title Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, Capcom announced celebratory in-game content, including a special Mazo Talisman that will be available to all players next month.
