The Fortnite Festival is hitting double digits in style — and this time, it’s with one of the most iconic virtual bands of all time.

On August 26, Epic Games officially launched Fortnite Festival Season 10, headlined by none other than Gorillaz. Players can now step into the game with fully animated versions of 2D, Noodle, Russel Hobbs, and Murdoc Niccals, marking the first time the entire band has been available as Icons inside the Fortnite universe.

A Stage Built for Gorillaz

The crossover doesn’t just bring skins — it brings a vibe. Season 10’s new Main Stage has been redesigned around Gorillaz’ distinctive, gritty aesthetic, featuring towering city blocks, graffiti-soaked walls, and even a passing train, giving matches the feel of a living Gorillaz music video.

For fans looking to load up on themed content, the Noodle & 2D Bundle hits the Fortnite shop with character outfits, custom back bling, and emotes choreographed to the band’s 2005 classic “DARE.” Season pass rewards also include a “Clint Eastwood” Jam Track, while On Melancholy Hill unlocks later for premium passholders.

Russel, Murdoc, and Music for All

Players who pick up the Season 10 Music Pass will instantly unlock Russel Hobbs, with Murdoc Niccals waiting as the premium tier reward at the end of the pass. Along the way, passholders can earn instruments, back bling, and themed tracks. Epic is also adding free original songs throughout the season for non-pass players.

Bigger Festival, Smoother Gameplay

Season 10 arrives with gameplay tweaks, including improved note-timing visuals, guitar calibration settings, and new options for browsing the expanding music library. The improvements show Epic’s continued investment in making Fortnite Festival a full-fledged rhythm game — not just a side mode.

Gorillaz’ Real-World Tie-In

The timing couldn’t be better. Gorillaz are also making waves offline, running their House of Kong Exhibition at London’s Copper Box Arena until September 3. The digital-meets-physical synergy underscores Epic’s long-term push to blend music fandom and gaming culture.

Carrying the Torch

This Gorillaz collaboration follows a stacked list of musical crossovers that includes Lady Gaga, Metallica, Billie Eilish, Snoop Dogg, and Eminem. Last year, Fortnite broke records with its Remix: The Final event, drawing more than 14 million players to a 15-minute virtual concert.

With Season 10 doubling as the festival’s milestone anniversary, Epic has teased that the next pass will lean heavily into Fortnite’s own original music content. But for now, the spotlight belongs to the animated legends.

Fortnite Festival has quickly become one of Epic’s smartest plays, blurring the line between rhythm gaming and interactive concerts. Gorillaz are the perfect fit: a digital band with a massive cultural footprint, seamlessly merging their world with Fortnite’s.

This move isn’t just about cosmetics — it’s about Fortnite Festival staking its claim as the next-generation platform for digital music experiences. With Gorillaz’ gritty stage design, iconic tracks, and the full lineup of characters, Season 10 feels like the blueprint for where gaming and music collaborations are headed.
