Gamescom 2025: LEGO Batman’s Most Ambitious Adventure Yet Unveiled

The Dark Knight is getting the LEGO treatment once again — and this time, it’s bigger, darker, and packed with more history than ever before. At Gamescom 2025, Warner Bros. Games, TT Games, DC, and The LEGO Group officially unveiled LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, a new action-adventure title designed to celebrate the Caped Crusader’s 86-year legacy across comics, TV, movies, and games.
Developed by TT Games — the studio behind the critically acclaimed LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga — the game is set for release in 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (Steam & Epic Games Store), and the Nintendo Switch 2. Pre-release wishlisting is already live.
From Bruce Wayne’s Training to Gotham’s Protector
The story takes players deep into the mythos of Batman, beginning with Bruce Wayne’s early days training with the League of Shadows, and following his rise as Gotham City’s legendary guardian. Along the way, players will be able to partner with an all-star roster of allies including Jim Gordon, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Catwoman, and Talia al Ghul, while taking on iconic villains like The Joker, The Penguin, Poison Ivy, Ra’s al Ghul, Bane, and more.
A New Combat System for the Dark Knight
Combat has been reimagined with a fluid, combo-driven system that mirrors Batman’s unique fighting style. Players can string together counters, combos, and cinematic takedowns while using classic gadgets like the Batarang and Batclaw. Each ally also brings their own signature tools, such as Gordon’s foam sprayer, Robin’s line launcher, and Catwoman’s whip.
The game also supports two-player local co-op, giving fans the option to team up and fight crime together. For those seeking an extra challenge, new difficulty modes — Caped Crusader and Dark Knight — raise the stakes beyond the traditional LEGO experience.
MainEvent.News | Backstage Take
TT Games knows how to blend nostalgia, humor, and fan service into a LEGO game, and Legacy of the Dark Knight looks like it could be the most ambitious project in the studio’s history. By weaving together Batman’s entire legacy with modernized combat and co-op play, this could be the title that does for Batman what The Skywalker Saga did for Star Wars. If done right, it might not just be another LEGO game — it could become the definitive love letter to Gotham’s protector.
