Sean O’Malley’s Dream Card for UFC’s Historic White House Event

The idea of a UFC fight card on the White House lawn once sounded like pure fantasy — but thanks to President Donald Trump’s announcement over Fourth of July weekend, it’s officially in the works for Independence Day 2026.

“Every one of our national parks, battlefields, and historic sites are going to have special events in honor of America 250,” Trump said on July 3. “And I even think we’re going to have a UFC fight… on the grounds of the White House. Dana’s going to do it. Dana’s great — one of a kind.”

UFC CEO Dana White and his team have already made trips to the White House to hash out logistics, and fighters are lining up to throw their names into the mix.

Former bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley has his own ideas for what would make the card unforgettable. Speaking on the Overdogs Podcast, “Sugar” shared his dream lineup if he were the matchmaker for the historic night.

O’Malley’s White House Super Fights

  • Conor McGregor vs. Ilia Topuria – “That’d be the top one.”
  • Israel Adesanya vs. Sean Strickland 2 – “I think that would be a banger.”
  • Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall – “The one everyone wants to see.”
  • Max Holloway vs. Anybody – “He’s so fun to watch.”
  • Colby Covington vs. Ian Garry – “America vs. someone else. Make it USA vs. the world.”

And if O’Malley himself gets the call? He’s got some ideas for that, too.

Potential “Sugar” Matchups

  • Sean O’Malley vs. Cory Sandhagen – “Kind of like the more realistic one.”
  • Sean O’Malley vs. Petr Yan 2 – “That would be a banger.”
  • A tongue-in-cheek suggestion of O’Malley vs. Merab Dvalishvili 3 — followed by, “No, I’m just kidding.”

MainEvent.News | Backstage Take

A UFC card on the White House lawn would be one of the most surreal spectacles in sports history — and O’Malley’s wish list is exactly the kind of blockbuster matchmaking Dana White would love to deliver. Conor, Jones, Adesanya, Holloway — it reads like a “greatest hits” lineup. But the politics of timing, injuries, and promotion rivalries will make assembling even half of this dream card a massive challenge. Still, if Dana pulls it off, it could be the most-watched UFC event of all time — and maybe the most American.
