Travis Scott’s JackBoys 2 Crushes the Charts — Ends Bieber’s Perfect No. 1 Album Streak

Travis Scott’s JackBoys 2 Crushes the Charts — Ends Bieber’s Perfect No. 1 Album Streak

Travis Scott just did what no one else has in 15 years — kept Justin Bieber from debuting at No. 1.

The Houston-born hitmaker stormed the Billboard 200 this week with JackBoys 2, a hard-hitting follow-up to the 2019 JackBoys compilation under his Cactus Jack label. The project debuted at No. 1 with 232,000 album-equivalent units, including a massive 160,000 in pure album sales, according to Billboard.

That figure was enough to fend off fierce competition from not only Justin Bieber’s surprise album Swag but also Clipse’s comeback record Let God Sort ‘Em Out — their first new release in over 15 years.

📈 A Big Week for Hip-Hop, a First for Bieber

While JackBoys 2 extends Scott’s streak to six career No. 1 albums, the bigger headline may be on Bieber’s side — and not in the way he’s used to.

Swag marks the first album of Bieber’s career that didn’t debut at No. 1, ending a historic six-album run that began with 2010’s My World 2.0. Even so, the new release delivered a strong showing with 163,000 equivalent units, largely fueled by 198.77 million streams. Physical sales are expected to be counted in the coming weeks once shipping is finalized.

🎧 Bieber’s Still Got a Hit on His Hands

Despite missing the top spot, Bieber’s lead single “Daisies” topped both Apple Music and Spotify’s U.S. daily charts this past week. It’s currently in a tight race for No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, going up against viral contender Alex Warren’s “Ordinary”, which has held the crown for six consecutive weeks.

🔥 Clipse Makes a Statement with Comeback Album

After a decade-and-a-half hiatus, Clipse reentered the scene with Let God Sort ‘Em Out, landing at No. 4 with 118,000 units. The Virginia duo’s gritty lyricism and raw production clearly still resonate — and fans showed up for it.

🗣️ MainEvent.News | Backstage Take

“Travis Scott knew exactly what he was doing. While everyone was watching Bieber’s surprise drop and Clipse’s return, Scott moved in silence with one of the strongest first-week performances of the year. But make no mistake — Bieber may have lost the top album, but ‘Daisies’ is on pace to be a song-of-the-summer contender. The real winner? Hip-hop. With Cactus Jack on top, Clipse roaring back, and Bieber still charting big — the culture just ate.”
