Brad Pitt’s L.A. Mansion Ransacked in Bold Nighttime Burglary Amid F1 Movie Tour

LOS ANGELES — A Los Angeles property reportedly owned by actor Brad Pitt was burglarized Wednesday night, with suspects breaking in and ransacking the home while the star was abroad promoting his upcoming film, F1: The Movie.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers responded around 10:30 p.m. to a residence in the Los Feliz neighborhood after a reported break-in. Authorities confirmed that three suspects entered the home through a front window, looted the premises, and fled with unspecified stolen property.

While the LAPD did not publicly confirm the owner or detail what was taken, the Associated Press reported the residence was purchased by Pitt in April 2023 for $5.5 million, citing commercial real estate site Traded.

It remains unclear if anyone was inside the home at the time of the break-in. However, Pitt has been overseas on a promotional tour for F1: The Movie, most recently appearing at the film’s international premiere in London earlier this week.

Representatives for the Oscar-winning actor have not yet commented on the incident.

Directed by Joseph Kosinski, F1 stars Pitt as Sonny Hayes, a veteran Formula One driver who returns from retirement to mentor rising star Joshua Pearce (played by Damson Idris). The high-octane racing film opens in theaters this Friday.

In a review for The Hollywood Reporter, Lovia Gyarkye praised the film’s realism and intensity, writing: “Of course, there are some unrealistic elements in F1, bits that might have sticklers raising an eyebrow, but the film doesn’t feel any less dramatic than the real thing.”

NBC News was the first outlet to report news of the burglary.
