Trump Teases UFC Superfight on White House Lawn for America’s 250th Birthday

“Think of this — a UFC fight on the grounds of the White House.”

WASHINGTON — July 4, 2025

In a bold and unexpected Independence Day announcement, former President Donald Trump revealed plans to potentially host a UFC championship event on the White House lawn as part of the massive celebrations for America’s 250th birthday on July 4, 2026.

“I even think we’re going to have a UFC — think of this — on the grounds of the White House,” Trump said during a pre–Fourth of July address. “Dana [White] is going to do it. He’s great, one of a kind. We’re talking 20,000 to 25,000 people — a full card, championship fight.”

The announcement, while unconventional, comes amid a growing friendship between Trump and UFC CEO Dana White, who were recently seen together cage-side at UFC 314 in Miami. According to a UFC official speaking to CNN, discussions with the White House are “active” regarding the event.

“We’re going to build a little—well, Dana is going to do it,” Trump added, emphasizing the scale of the event. “We’ve got a lot of land there.”

Trump’s comment was part of a broader announcement about plans for nationwide historic celebrations, including reenactments, military tributes, and special events across national parks and historic battlefields in honor of America 250.

The idea of hosting a UFC fight at the nation’s most iconic political address is unprecedented — and could mark the first time in history a combat sports event would be staged at the White House.

White, who’s been a vocal supporter of Trump for years, previously urged him to retire from politics following a 2024 assassination attempt. But Trump, according to White, remains driven by a spiritual mission.

“He believes God spared his life to be president again,” White said. “He could walk away and have a great life, but that’s not who he is.”

With July 4, 2026 just a year away, questions remain: Can the logistics be pulled off? Would the Secret Service sign off on a fight night at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue? And who would headline?

One thing’s clear: if Trump and Dana White have their way, Independence Day 2026 might feature fists flying on the front lawn of American democracy.
